I resonate a lot with you and had moments of self-doubt after I left my job. I recently read a post called "How to Live an Asymmetric Life" by Graham Weaver, and he depicted progress as "hitting a plateau", things has to get worse before it gets better when you are embarking on a new journey. So sometimes being comfortable means we are on the right track of discovering solvable problems :)
I remembered I first heard the saying "get worse before it gets better" from my cello teacher. She taught me not to be afraid of making mistakes and don't hold myself back. Such a wonderful connection between these two!
